Presentation from Glentoran Supporters Committee 1923.

Thu, 01/01/2015 - 18:51

The Officers and members of the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923) had the pleasure of making a cheque presentation to Glentoran today. £4000 was presented to Glentoran Chairman, Stephen Henderson by 1923 Chairman, Philip Stevenson and Treasurer Tim Graham. The money will help towards training costs and comes from money raised through sales of the Gazette and also from advertising within it. We would like to thank all our advertisers and everyone who has purchased a Gazette over the season to enable this donation to be made. Thank you.

Sad News

Wed, 31/12/2014 - 17:21

Yesterday evening we learned of the sudden and very sad passing of the brother of our esteemed colleague Jason Lindsay.

The circumstances surrounding the passing of Francis T Lindsay are still unclear, but made even more difficult given that he was a young man.

Jason has assembled and developed quite probably our academy's finest squad at the 2004 age group, and his extremely talented son Charlie is one of the stars of the team.

Norman Carmichael

Tue, 30/12/2014 - 14:34

The officials, players and supporters of Glentoran Football Club are deeply saddened by the passing of former vice president Norman Carmichael. Mr Carmichael had a long association with the club throughout the 1980's and 1990's and frequently travelled with the side on many European campaigns including Sofia, Paris and Marseilles.

He will be sadly missed by everyone at the Oval. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joan and his sons Keith, Ian and Derek at this sad time.

Linfield 2-1 Glentoran

Fri, 26/12/2014 - 17:38

A second half goal from Ivan Sproule saw Linfield snatch the three points in front of a bumper Boxing Day crowd at Windsor Park.  Unsurprisingly Glentoran manager Eddie Patterson had named an unchanged side after last week’s exciting Oval victory over League champions Cliftonville at the Oval.
