Bobby Burns continued his quest to be recognised as his generation’s Johnny Jameson as his last gasp equaliser tonight at the National Stadium was his fourth goal against Linfield this season. It was no more than the Glens deserved in what was a scrappy game, but one in which the visitors had the lion’s share of possession..

Kick Off 7.45pm
Tomorrow evening we cross the city to the National Stadium to face Linfield in the sixth “Big Two” match of the season.
With Friday’s 0-0 draw at home to Crusaders and Larne’s win at Solitude on Tuesday having left Linfield ten points behind leaders Larne (with only twelve points left to play for albeit with a game in hand) the Blues are under huge pressure to stay in striking distance before the sides face off at Inver Park in the penultimate game of the season.
The following changes have taken place on the Board of GFC1882
Gail Redmond has advised that she will be stepping down from the Board with immediate effect due to her work commitments in growing and developing the women’s game in NI and the upcoming demands of her time.
Larne took a big step towards a first ever League Title and Glentoran’s hopes of automatic qualification for the UEFA Europa League a blow following this one-sided match at Inver Park this evening. The 2-0 scoreline if anything flattered the Glens’ insipid performance.
Rodney McAree made one change from Saturday’s 5-1 defeat of Portadown, with a recovered Conor McMenamin returned to the starting line-up and Niall McGinn on the bench for this one.
