Glentoran were lacking in passion, fight & desire and as a result, lost this game and with it, the chance to move up a couple of places in the Danske Bank Premiership table. The game, rescheduled from last night only went ahead due to the hard work of staff, volunteers and supporters. Unfortunately their efforts weren't rewarded. The home side were unchanged from Tuesday night's victory over Carrick Rangers with Niall McGinn making a return to the squad as one of the substitutes.

Tomorrow evening Glenavon visit the Bet McLean Oval for the second time in eleven days and the Glens will definitely have a point to prove, having taken just one point out of six against the eighth placed team this season.

Last weekend’s 1-0 win at Newry gave Gary Hamilton’s side a first league win in 10 games, moving them into 8th place and within 2 points of Carrick Rangers in the race to secure 7th place, and with it the last European Playoff place.

Busy day for Glens meal team

Today in memory of the club's Great Friend Russell Dickson, the Glentoran Milk Bar team cooked an amazing 358 Dinners for distribution throughout the community.

Meals were distributed to Team Dot, Walkway Community, Braniel & Clonduff Community Groups and our own independent pensioners & families.

Jodie and the Milk Bar team would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible.

The team has found a huge increase in cost to produce these meals and cannot thank both donors and sponsors enough for supporting our monthly meal drive.

Carrick Rangers 1-5 Glentoran

Two first half goals from Rhys Marshall set the Glens on their way to victory in tonight's Danske Bank Premiership game away to Carrick Rangers. With Shay McCartan injured there was a place in the starting XI for Aaron Wightman. Joe Crowe was also in the side with club captain, Marcus Kane dropping to the bench. Aidan Wilson once again led the side out and the Scottish defender began the game in the right-back slot. Crowe and McCullough occupied the two central defensive positions with James Singleton at left back and Rhys Marshall moving into midfield.

First Fans Award for Terry

Terry Devlin has won the supporters’ vote and is the February Glentoran Player Of The Month.

Nineteen year old Terry played in all our six league and cup games in February, scoring in our 2-1 defeat at Solitude and after signing from Dungannon Swifts last summer he has firmly established himself at Glentoran, appearing in 32 first team matches in midfield and scoring three times. He has become a constant presence in the Glens midfield beside double vote winner Bobby Burns. He was joint runner up to Bobby in the January vote.
