Saturday 18th March 2023

Kick Off 3.00pm

On Saturday we play our penultimate pre-split game when we face Carrick Rangers at the Loughview Leisure Arena for the second time in eleven days.

Carrick bounced back from last week’s heavy defeat by recording an important 1-0 win away to struggling Dungannon Swifts; a stunning David Cushley volley just before half time secured the points and kept Stuart King’s side two points clear of Glenavon in the race to secure the seventh place European Playoff spot.

Glentoran 1-0 Ballymena United

Tue, 14/03/2023 - 23:06

Glentoran took maximum points from tonight's Danske Bank Premiership game at the Bet McLean Oval but it took until the 88th minute for the goal to arrive. Danny Purkis was the hero and it was fully deserved as he put in a great shift. Overall though it was a laboured performance with chances few and far between and had the normally prolific Davy McDaid been on form, the story might have had a different ending; the Ballymena United striker spurning 3 great opportunities over the 90 minutes.

In a 16-page Glentoran Gazette for Tuesday night’s re-arranged Danske Bank Premiership game against Ballymena United, printed for the game which was postponed on 10th January, the 1923 Committee question whether it is really possible to conclude the debate on the greatest of all time and Philip Stevenson looks at the 1923 over the years as we celebrate our centenary. The Gazette, by the fans for the fans, is £3.
