A four goal first half blitz from long serving striker Rachel Rogan was the key to this comprehensive win that maintained the Glens’ 100% start to the season and maintained their position as joint table toppers after five games.

The Glens made three changes from the win over Sion Swifts with Rogan, midfielder Sam Kelly and goalie Ashleigh McKinnon given their first Premiership starts of the season and with Ellie Scott, Joely Andrews and leading scorer Kerry Beattie rested on the bench.

Glentoran’s senior goalkeepers have joined in an exciting new link up with a recently established goalkeeper gloves company owned by Glentoran Goalkeeper Coach and club playing legend Elliott Morris, Frixion Goalkeeping Gloves.

Currently Glentoran keepers Aaron McCarey, Ollie Webber, Alex Henderson and Lorcan Donnelly are sponsored and have their gloves supploiby Frixion GK, as are Ellie Scott and Ashleigh McKinnon Glentoran Women.

The season may be over for one section of Glentoran's teams, but its only starting to warm up for Glentoran Women.

The girls have played 4 Sports Direct Premiership games so far this season, but have got off to a flying start with 4 wins, 27 goals scored and none conceded. They're at home this Friday (19th May) so why not get along and give them the sort of outstanding support the men's first team has had all season?

In a Cup Final atmosphere today, Glentoran laid their playoff bogey to rest with the decisive and confident victory their performances in recent weeks fully merited. This was the team’s fifth consecutive victory and with a goal rate of fifteen for and just one conceded they have definitely ended the season in a positive and convincing manner.

In Saturday’s final Glentoran Gazette of the season, Rodney McAree says he is expecting a tough game against a quality Cliftonville side. However, he adds many of the players still feel the hurt of falling at this stage last year and are determined to qualify for the UEFA Conference League. Beth Stafford has Glens Player of the Year, Bobby Burns, on the cover of a programme which looks at a Cliftonville side moving on from the resignation of former manager Paddy McLaughlin, puts the focus on the League’s richest game and examines the Glens record this season against other top six teams.
