Congratulations to our first team players Nathan Kerr and Cricky Gallagher who were in the starting line up for Northern Ireland Under 21s in their international friendly v Bulgaria in Spain this afternoon. Northern Ireland won the match 1-0 with a first hald goal from Sayne Lavery (Everton).

Next match - also in Spain - is on Monday when the boys take on Mexico.

Glens support Down Syndrome Day 2019

Thu, 21/03/2019 - 21:28

The Glens first team squad supported World Down Syndrome Day 2019 tonight at training at Aquinas by wearing odd socks for Odd Socks Day.

Kitman Sean McManus (ironically the only man in the photograph not actually wearing socks!) organised the supply of odd socks to the players. Hope he has them back in the right place in time for our visit to Solitude. After the kit debacle before our recent match at Coleraine Showgrounds we can't take any chances!

Michael O'Neill comes home

Tue, 19/03/2019 - 22:29

Northern Ireland Manager Michael O'Neill returned to the scene of his 2002-2003 Championship triumph as a key member of Roy Coyle's Glens team this week when he brought his senior squad to the Oval for training sessions ahead of Thursday's home Euro 2020 Qualifier v Estonia.

Everyone at Glentoran was delighted to welcome the national squad and wish them all the best for the forthcoming campaign. Photographs by Pacemaker

Proud time for Glentoran Academy

Mon, 18/03/2019 - 22:57

Another extremely proud weekend for our Academy that saw no fewer than seven graduates featuring in our first team’s Danske Bank Premiership away win over second placed Ballymena United. The boys in question were James McCarthy and Paul O’Neill. (who both started) and Sean Og Gallagher, Malachy Smith, Paul McLaughlin, Jack Henderson and Sean Wallace who were all on the bench. Their fellow Academy graduate Jamie Glover, who picked up an injury in Northern Ireland’s Centenary Shield win over Scotland last Thursday, made an excellent first team debut the previous week at home against Ards.
