Transfer News: Conor is a Buddie

Thu, 06/07/2023 - 15:02

It’s with mixed feelings that Glentoran Football Club announce that we have reached agreement with St Mirren for the transfer of Conor McMenamin.

While we all wish Conor every possible success in the Scottish Premiership, we are sad at the loss of a player who has performed so well for the club since returning to the Bet McLean Oval in January 2021. Conor has been an outstanding player for us and also a credit to the club and our league in each of his six appearances for Northern Ireland as a Glentoran player.

Ali’s thank you to Malta bound supporters

Wed, 05/07/2023 - 20:44

Good news for those Glentoran season ticket holders travelling next week to our away Europa Conference tie with Gzira United FC.

As a thank you for their loyalty, dedication and commitment to the club, Glentoran majority shareholder Ali Pour will be purchasing the tickets for those season ticket holders who are travelling to Malta. This applies to those who had season tickets in 2022/23 and to those who have bought for the forthcoming 2023/24 system.

Glentoran 1-0 Kilmarnock

Wed, 05/07/2023 - 01:09

A great, piercing run and cross from Daire O’Connor and a sublime finish from Junior on 71 minutes gave a very youthful Glens a deserved victory over Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock at the Bet McLean Oval this evening.

Warren Feeney used 22 players, including 7 teenagers with 10 changes at half time. The younger Glens in particular rose to the challenge against  quality opposition in a second half in which Kirk McLaughlin and Rhys Walsh also went close.

Our last friendly before heading for Malta next week is a home friendly v Bangor on Saturday (KO 3pm).
