Sean Murray has left Glentoran to join Cork City on a permanent basis.
Sean joined Glentoran in January 2022 after a very successful time at Dundalk FC. In a spell badly impacted by a serious hip injury he made 48 appearances, scoring twice. In 2023-24 Sean made 13 appearances (10 as sub) before joining Cork on loan in January of this year.
We wish Sean every success at his new club.
After a 3-week break from league action, defending champions Glentoran remain top of the table following a dramatic conclusion to their clash with Linfield Women at Midgley Park.
It was a different looking line up to that of 3 weeks ago v Cliftonville as player departures and an injury to Emma McMaster gave starting opportunities to Sofie Keenan, Aimee Kerr and Kascie Weir. New signings Kelly Crompton and Ellie Butler started on the bench.
Following NIFL's announcement of the first cohort of televised Sports Direct Premiership games a number of our fixtures have been brought forward. The new dates are as follows:
Crusaders (H) Friday 9th August
Carrick Rangers (A) Friday 23rd August
Larne (A) Friday 20th September
Linfield (A) Friday 4th October

Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the signing of Andrew Mills. Andrew (30) is an experienced, English born goalkeeper who has spend the last ten years of his career playing in Sweden, most recently with Ostersund.
Declan Devine: "it's been clear to everyone that we needed to recruit two experienced keepers ahead of the new season. I believe with Daniel and now with Andrew we have done so and strengthened the squad significantly. Andrew has been with us a couple of weeks now and has both impressed and settled in with the rest of the squad."
It took a well struck 32nd minute opener from Lisburn’s Sophie Megaw to galvanise the Glens into action tonight, but when it did there was no question about who would go on to win their place in this season’s County Antrim Cup Final.
The hosts’ lead lasted just 2 minutes before Demi Vance cut in from the left to hammer in an unstoppable long range shot that gave former Glens keeper Emma Higgins no chance in the Lisburn goal. Two minutes later Demi again cut in from the left to unleash a delightful right footed effort to put the Glens ahead for the first time.
The Glens took another step towards a sixth successive Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup with this evening’s home and hard-fought win over Linfield Ladies.
The holders took the lead through a characteristic effort from skipper Jess Foy on 37 minutes and held the lead through to the break.
