Under 16 call ups for Academy boys

Huge Congratulations to Charlie Campbell, Zak Magowan & Adam Dolan (standby) on their well deserved call ups to the U16 Northern Ireland Squad.

The boys will head off to Cyprus to take part in a UEFA Development tournament and are due to take on their counterparts from Cyprus, Romania & Scotland.

We are proud to see them on the international stage and wish them every success.

Glentoran is pleased to announce ticketing arrangements for the highly anticipated BetMcLean Cup Final against Cliftonville at The National Stadium on Sunday 9th March 2025 (Kick-Off: 3:00pm).

 

South Stand & East Stand

Glentoran fans will be seated in the South Stand and East Stand.

All tickets will be available for purchase from 10:00am on Thursday 6th February via www.nifootballleague.com.

Casey Smyth joins Newry City on loan

Glentoran Football Club can confirm that Academy graduate Casey Smyth has joined Newry City on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The 18-year-old winger, son of Glentoran legend Gary Smyth, continues his development in the NIFL Championship following a successful loan spell at Dundela in the latter half of the 2023/24 season.

Theo McToal joins Ballyclare Comrades on loan

Glentoran Football Club can confirm that Academy graduate Theo McToal has joined Ballyclare Comrades on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The 18-year-old full-back, who signed his first professional contract with Glentoran in July 2023, makes the temporary switch to Dixon Park to gain valuable first-team experience in the NIFL Championship.

A Larne native, McToal has been a standout performer in the Glentoran Academy and a regular for the Seconds this season.

Jay Donnelly joins Newington on loan

Glentoran Football Club can confirm that Jay Donnelly has joined NIFL Championship side Newington on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The 29-year-old forward, who signed for Glentoran in September 2020, has been a key player for the club over the past four seasons, making 179 appearances and scoring 78 goals.

The temporary move provides Donnelly with the opportunity to play regular first-team football and regain his best form for the remainder of the campaign.

Declan Devine’s side booked their place in the last eight with a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Linfield on Friday night. Their reward is a trip to Bangor, who secured their spot in the Quarter-Finals with an impressive 3-0 win over Annagh United.
