Ferris the difference as Glentoran see off Sky Blues

Nathaniel Ferris opened his Glentoran account with a second-half strike to secure a 1-0 win against Ballymena United at The BetMcLean Oval in this evening’s Sports Direct Premiership fixture.

The win ensures Glentoran remain in second place in the standings, five points ahead of nearest rivals Dungannon Swifts.

The visitors put up a stubborn resistance throughout the game and could have led after only four minutes.

Wightman ready to push on as Glens aim to return to winning ways

Glentoran defender Aaron Wightman is determined to leave an injury-ravaged 11 months behind him and play a key role in helping the Glens bounce back as they prepare to face Ballymena United in the Sports Direct Premiership on Tuesday at the BetMcLean Oval (Kick-off: 7:45pm).

Tuesday’s fixture marks Glentoran’s first match at the BetMcLean Oval in nearly four weeks since Danny Amos’ stunning 90th-minute winner secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts in early February.

Glentoran exit Irish Cup at the hands of battling Bangor

Glentoran were stunned this evening as they were beaten 3-1 by NIFL Championship leaders Bangor in an enthralling Clearer Water Irish Cup Quarter-Final at Clandeboye Park.

Ben Arthurs, Ben Cushnie and Lewis Harrison put the hosts into an unassailable 3-0 half-time lead.

Glentoran grabbed one back in the second-half thanks to Charlie Lindsay, but it was too little, too late for Declan Devine’s men, who will be hugely disappointed to see his side exit the  Irish Cup

Glentoran Women set for Women’s League Cup Opener

Glentoran Women will kick off their 2025 season with the newly revamped VBET Women’s League Cup.

The 2025 competition introduces a fresh group-stage format, with the Glens drawn in Group B alongside Lisburn Rangers, Crusaders Strikers and Larne Women.

The Glens will kick off their League Cup campaign on Friday 11th April 2025 against Larne Women at Blanchflower Stadium.

A week later, Glentoran Women will travel to Crew Park on Friday 18th April to face last season’s finalists, Lisburn Rangers.

Glens determined to get back to winning ways in Irish Cup clash

Glentoran midfielder Cameron Palmer insists he and his teammates are fully focused on returning to winning ways as they prepare for a crucial Clearer Water Irish Cup Quarter-Final showdown against NIFL Championship leaders Bangor at Clandeboye Park on Friday night (Kick-off: 7:45pm).

Having already secured the County Antrim Shield and booked a place in the BetMcLean Cup Final, Glentoran will be aiming to take another step toward their 24th Clearer Water Irish Cup triumph - and their first since 2020 - by overcoming the Seasiders and booking their place in the semi-finals.

Winning run ended as Glens beaten at Solitude

Glentoran’s 16-game unbeaten run ended after they lost 2-0 to Belfast rivals Cliftonville in this evening’s Sports Direct Premiership tie at Solitude.

Glentoran remain second in the standings and now take a break from league action, with their Clearer Water Irish Cup Quarter-Final tie next Friday night against Bangor.

Ryan Curran and Jack Keaney struck for the Reds, with both goals coming in the second half.

Declan Devine’s men were on top for the first hour of the game but were ultimately punished for not taking their chances.

Lyons-Foster ready for another tough test as Glens head to Solitude

Glentoran defender Kodi Lyons-Foster is relishing the challenge of another huge away game as the Glens prepare to face Cliftonville at Solitude tonight in the Sports Direct Premiership (Kick-off: 7:45pm).

A defensive regular in Glentoran’s current 16-game unbeaten run, the 28-year-old has been a pillar of consistency at the heart of the Glens backline, making 26 appearances and scoring two goals, including a decisive headed winner against Coleraine last Friday night.
