Gyollai the hero as keeper nets in dramatic Glens’ win over Cliftonville

Goalkeeper Daniel Gyollai was the unlikely hero today as his goal helped Glentoran come from behind to grab an enthralling 2-1 victory over Cliftonville at Solitude in the Sports Direct Premiership.
The home side took an early lead thanks to Joe Gormley, but Gyollai hit back before half-time and Danny Amos struck with 10 minutes remaining to complete the comeback and take all three points back to east Belfast.

Jenkins targets repeat heroics as Glens head to Solitude

Glentoran forward Jordan Jenkins is determined to fire his team to victory and stake his claim for a regular starting spot as the Glens prepare to face Cliftonville at Solitude on Saturday 21st December 2025 (Kick-off 3pm) in the Sports Direct Premiership.

Jenkins has already proven decisive against Cliftonville this season, netting a stunning early winner in Glentoran’s hard-fought 1-0 victory at The BetMcLean Oval in September. Now, the striker is eager to replicate that performance and help his side secure a crucial three points in North Belfast.

Tonight's Bet McLean Cup quarter-final fixture against Ballymena United at the Ballymena Showgrounds has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The fixture has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 7th January 2025, kick-off 7.45pm, and all tickets remain valid.

Declan Devine signs new contract at Glentoran

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that First Team Manager Declan Devine has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract, committing his future to the BetMcLean Oval until 2027.

Since taking charge in March 2024 - initially on an interim basis before being confirmed as permanent in April - Devine has undertaken a significant overhaul of the first team squad while beginning the process of reshaping the club’s football operations.

Influential Glentoran midfielder Fuad Sule has challenged his teammates to deliver another big performance as they prepare to face Ballymena United in the Quarter Finals of the BetMcLean Cup at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Tuesday night.

Glentoran head into the tie on the back of an impressive 3-1 comeback victory over Crusaders at Seaview in the Sports Direct Premiership.

Declan Devine’s three second half substitutes – Jordan Jenkins, Charlie Lindsay and Wassim Aouachria - paid a huge dividend as they were all on the scoresheet in Glentoran’s impressive win against Crusaders at Seaview.

It was a masterstroke by Devine, whose team trailed to a Jordan Forsythe goal at half-time.

But when the former Derry City manager tweaked his formation, there was only going to be one winner, the Glens produced a dominant second half and, really could have won by a bigger margin.

Kane calls for focus as Glens face Crusaders

Glentoran captain Marcus Kane has called on his teammates to rise to the occasion of a thrilling Friday the 13th clash under the lights at Seaview, as the Glens prepare to take on Crusaders in the Sports Direct Premiership on Friday 13th December (Kick-off: 7:45pm).

With the team returning to league action following disruptions caused by Storm Darragh, Kane believes Glentoran can build on their recent 1-0 BetMcLean Cup victory over Linfield and put together a consistent run of league form.

Two Sports Direct Premiership fixture changes in February

Two of Glentoran’s February fixtures in the Sports Director Premiership have been rescheduled for live broadcast coverage on BBC Sport NI.

The Glens’ away match against Coleraine at the Coleraine Showgrounds will now take place on Friday 14th February 2025 (Kick-off: 7.45pm).

This will be followed by a second away fixture against Cliftonville at Solitude, now scheduled for Friday 21st February 2025 (Kick-off: 7.45pm).

Both matches will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport NI website for supporters unable to attend the match in person.

Glentoran secures new kit van from Agnew Leasing

Glentoran Football Club has announced that Agnew Leasing has supplied the club with a brand-new VW Transporter SWB Kit Van for the remainder of the 2024/25 Sports Direct Premiership campaign.

The state-of-the-art vehicle will play a vital role in supporting the club’s day-to-day operations for training and matchdays.

Glentoran thanks Agnew Leasing for their support and the Club looks forward to making great use of this fantastic new vehicle.
