Hvid targets Clearer Water Irish Cup success as Glens face Welders

Glentoran defender Frankie Hvid is relishing the opportunity to kick off 2025 with the start of a memorable cup run as the Glens prepare to face Harland and Wolff Welders in the Clearer Water Irish Cup fifth round.

The East Belfast derby will take place on Friday 3rd January (kick-off 7:45pm) at The Blanchflower Stadium and opens a weekend of action in one of local football’s most prestigious cup competitions.

Double Delight for Jenkins as Glentoran Sink Ports

Jordan Jenkins was the hero as Glentoran saw off Portadown 2-0 in an impressive showing at Shamrock Park in the Sports Direct Premiership.

Immediately prior to kick off both teams and both sets of supporters impeccably observed a minute's silence for Cliftonville player Michael Newberry, who sadly passed away this morning on his 27th birthday.

Jenkins scored in either half for Declan Devine’s team, who now look like a match for anyone. The win lifts the Glens to second in the table with the Ports remaining in fourth.

Singleton looks to extend Glens' unbeaten run at Shamrock Park

Glentoran midfielder James Singleton is aiming to help the Glens close out 2025 on a high by extending their unbeaten run as they take on Portadown at Shamrock Park in the Sports Direct Premiership on Monday 30th December (kick-off 7:45 pm).

The influential midfielder has been in fine form this season, recently signing a two-and-a-half-year contract extension that will keep him at the BetMcLean Oval until the summer of 2027.

Glentoran secure signing of dynamic winger Christie Pattisson

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of dynamic winger Christie Pattisson on an 18-month contract.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder will officially join the Glens on 1st January 2025, arriving at the BetMcLean Oval from League of Ireland side Waterford. During the 2024 season, he made 25 appearances, including 17 starts and contributed four goals and two assists.

Glens dominate but are held by Linfield in Boxing Day stalemate

Glentoran played out a Boxing Day stalemate in today’s Big-Two battle with Linfield at the BetMcLean Oval.

The Glens enjoyed the majority of possession and territory against their arch-rivals but could not find a winner as both sides finished the game with only 10 men on the field of play after two red cards.

The draw keeps Declan Devine’s men third in the Sports Direct Premiership table, just a point behind Dungannon Swifts in second.
