Over the last decade, the Glentoran Community Trust has built up a strong and valuable relationship with Ruby’s Bar, Dundonald.
As a community totally reliant on the dedication, courage and conviction of all our NHS staff and key workers in these uncertain times, we were delighted to hear that the car park facilities at Ruby’s were now being used as an overspill for Ulster Hospital staff.
Glentoran Football Club was proud yesterday to donate 150 facemasks to Palmerston Care Home in East Belfast. This was from the consignment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donated to social worker and care workers across Belfast last week by our majority shareholder Ali Pour.
One of the key players in Glentoran’s famous Vienna Cup victory in 1914 was George Ferrett. He was part of Glentoran's famed half-back line Emerson Ferrett and Scraggs.
George's son Tom now resides in Palmerston Nursing Home in East Belfast and today (Thursday 30 April) is his 100th birthday.
