Just Champion for Glens Women

Glentoran Women overcame a second half challenge at the Bet McLean Oval this evening to retain their Danske Bank Women's Premiership crown with this 3-2 home win over runners up Cliftonville.

Glens were outstanding in the first half and led 2-0 at half time through goals from last season’s NIFL Player of the Year Caragh Hamilton and the legendary Kelly Bailie. The Reds shocked their hosts with two second half goals, but the winner and league clincher came appropriately from this season’s leading scorer Kerry Beattie.

Glentoran 0-3 Linfield

Glentoran suffered their second home 3-nil defeat in the space of 4 days in the Danske Bank Premiership this evening.

The Glens made two changes from Saturday with Ross Glendinning replacing the unwell Ross McCarey in goal, and Gael Bigirimana starting in place of Bobby Burns who was among the substitutes tonight. Paddy McClean continued at left back and captain in place of injured skipper Marcus Kane. The Blues were without top scorer Christy Manzinga, suspended after a red card at the weekend.

Joely named Player of the Month

GLENTORAN Women’s teenage star Joely Andrews has been named as the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association Danske Bank Women’s Player of the Month for August.

After impressing domestically and then starring on the Glens’ Women’s Champions League trip to Finland 19-year-old Joely follows her team mate Kerry Beattie, who won the award in June.

Joely was instrumental in Glentoran winning all three of their Danske Bank Women’s Premiership games during August, scoring 14 goals and conceding just one.

Jay receives Cookstown Award

Members of the Cookstown Glentoran Supporters Club presented the club's  2020-2021 Player of the Year Award  to Jay Donnelly on the pitch at the Bet McLean Oval on Saturday.

Match Streaming Update: Linfield match

Glentoran Football Club has teamed up with local company PerformaTV to live stream selected home matches in this season’s Danske Bank Premiership.

The service will start this Tuesday (28th September) when we play Linfield at the Bet McLean Oval. The game will be filmed by David Kerr of GlensTV. Commentator for the match will be Aaron Agnew alongside our multi title winning captain Paul Leeman. Other Glentoran Legends will join us for matches at various points in the season.

Glentoran 0-3 Crusaders

Glentoran went down 3-nil at the Bet McLean Oval this afternoon, outfought in every area of the pitch by Crusaders.

Skipper, Marcus Kane was missing with a hip injury, picked up during Tuesday night’s game at Inver Park. Caolan Marron came in to the back four with Patrick McClean moving to the left back slot and taking the captain’s armband.
