Legend Dermot drops by

Sun, 04/12/2022 - 22:31

We had 3 very welcome visitors at a recent home game – our Irish Cup winning captain Dermot Keely and his grandchildren.

Dermot has lived in Lanzarote for some years but was determined to make a long overdue visit to the Bet McLean Oval on his next visit home. He was joined by his old team mate Jim Cleary on the day.

Crusaders 3-2 Glentoran

Sat, 03/12/2022 - 19:03

It was a disappointing afternoon for the Glens at Seaview in the Danske Bank Premiership. Despite twice coming from behind, Glentoran were unable to take anything from the game.

As in the previous meeting between the two side, Crusaders struck early. James Singleton lost possession to Ross Clarke midway inside the Crusaders half. Clarke's long ball might have been intercepted by Luke McCullough but the ball found its way through to Heatly and his cross was headed in at the back post by Adam Lecky - who looked like he may have been in an offside position.

Match Preview: Crusaders v Glentoran

Thu, 01/12/2022 - 23:19

Saturday 3rd December

3.00pm Kick Off

On Saturday we head across town to Seaview to face Crusaders.

Since the sides met at the Oval in August in the second game of the season - a 3-1 home win with our goals coming from Rory Donnelly, Conor McMenamin and Aidan Wilson - Crusaders have enjoyed a solid run of form - losing only three and winning nine of their fifteen games played since that 3-1 defeat - to take them to fourth place in the table. They sit two points behind us but have played two games more.

Match Preview: Portadown v Glentoran

Fri, 25/11/2022 - 13:17

Bottom side Portadown have endured a disastrous start to the season, picking up just a solitary point from their 16 games played. Since claiming that point (in a 1-1 home draw with local rivals Glenavon at the end of September) they have gone on to lose their last 8 games in a row, scoring just 1 goal in that run and failing to score in any of the last 5.

Glentoran 0-1 Cliftonville

Sun, 20/11/2022 - 15:18

Glentoran's suffered a first home league defeat of the season this afternoon at the Bet McLean Oval; Ryan Curran's 8th minute strike deciding this Danske Bank Premiership match. The result sees the Glens drop to third in the table although they have played fewer games than the top two.
