Irish Cup Tour

You may have noticed that the Irish Cup has been out and about over the weekend and will be again over the next few weeks. Yesterday it made a trip to The Streat, Ballyhackamore and then today visited more of our sponsors around East Belfast. It will also be making an appearance in Todd Insurance, Bloomfield Avenue on Thursday, at Spar, Comber Road Dundonald on Saturday afternoon and Little Lily's Bistro on the Castlereagh Road on Saturday evening. 

End of Season Prize Draw - VIDEO

The draw was made last night at the Oval by Calum Birney and Steven Gordon. It was recorded by GlensTV and is on their Youtube page now. You can watch it by clicking HERE.

Club kitman Aaron Foster, who organised the ballot in order to help raise funds to help cover kit repairs, replacements and maintenance throughout the season, will be in contact with prize winners over the coming days.

Calum Birney signs new deal

We are delighted to announce that Calum Birney has signed a new 3-year contract at Glentoran FC.

Calum had attracted the attention of other Premiership clubs but the big central defender, who won his first Irish Cup on Saturday, put pen to paper tonight and is staying with Glentoran.

Stephen McAlorum signs new 2-year deal

We are delighted to announce that midfielder, Stephen McAlorum has signed a new 2-year contract with Glentoran.

Vice-captain McAlorum has played 119 games for the Glens to date including 43 in the season which just ended with the winning of the Irish Cup.

Saturday's 1-nil victory over Portadown at the Oval saw Stephen pick up his second Irish Cup winners medal in 3 years.

George Wilson Cup

It was with regret that Glentoran Seconds took the decision to withdraw from this year’s George Wilson Cup. This situation has arisen due to the inability for a mutually convenient date to be set for our outstanding group game against Cliftonville Olympic at Solitude.

Glentoran Legends vs Derry City Legends

This Saturday (9th May) Glentoran Legends play host to Derry City Legends at the Oval, kick off 1:30pm. 

Entrance to the game is free but supporters are encouraged to donate to the collection buckets inside the ground. The game is taking place in order to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Hospice, in memory of the late Mandy Glendinning who was the wife of Glentoran great Mark and proud mother of Linfield players Ross and Reece. Mandy sadly passed away a little over a year ago.

All contrbutions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

200 Club Winners For April

Firstly, let us apologise for the delay in getting the results to you for the April draw. We had quite a lot to do in the build up to the Irish Cup final but with the boys going out and winning, it made it all worthwhile.

The draw was made at the 'Oval Family Night' on Friday by one of Glentoran's Scottish fans, Mr Wightman.

The Players, Management and Board of Directors want to express their appreciation for such fantastic support on Saturday and thank all the fans for the manner in which they worked with the Club to make the Cup Final such a great event - and a great success.
