Tomorrow's Gazette

Fri, 06/12/2013 - 17:47

Another home game and another packed Glentoran Gazette will greet you on the forecourt at the Oval for the visit of league new boys Warrenpoint Town.

In this latest edition, our Playing For Keeps feature returns, with an appropriate subject - Alan Patterson, whose long held record for having the most appearances as a Glentoran goalkeeper will finally be broken when Elliott Morris leads the team out for this game. Philip Stevenson looks back on Paddy's two spells at the club, his frustrating time at Sheffield Wednesday and his time under Billy Sinclair at Sligo Rovers.

That win was the second for Glentoran in an unbeaten run of 8 games (W6 D2) which finally came to an end last Monday night when we went down 2-nil against Portadown at the Oval.

Another jam-packed Glentoran Gazette will greet you at the Oval tonight and continuing the theme of 'cult figures' at the club, following on from interviews with Guido Van de Kamp and Glen Little last week, we catch up with Scottish striker Ian Gilzean.

Gilzean of course is famous for scoring the winning  goal in the 2000 Irish Cup final, against tonight's opponents Portadown, and he talks to Eddy Patrick as part of our Raiders of the Lost Archive series.
