Just two rounds of games remain in the 2013-14 Danske Bank Premiership with the destiny of the title still not confirmed. Whilst leaders Cliftonville travel to Portadown, second placed Linfield host Glentoran in the final 'Big Two' meeting of the campaign.
Officials from Raven GSC made a presentation to Jason Hill on Saturday prior to our Danske Bank Premiership fixture with Crusaders.
Members of Hillfoot GSC presented a cheque to the club ahead of yesterday's game. Officials of Hillfoot GSC handed over a cheque for £1000 to Glentoran vice-chairman, Stephen Henderson in the boardroom prior to our 3-nil victory over Crusaders.
The Board pass on their thanks to all the members for this very generous donation.
Elliott Morris was voted Glentoran 'Player of the Year' for 2013-14 by the fans. Castlereagh GSC organised the vote at today's game and the Glentoran club captain came out on top.
Stephen McAlorum was runner-up with Marcus Kane third. The top 5 was completed by Johnny Addis and Jay Magee.
Glentoran's final home game of the 2013-14 season ended with a 3-nil win over Crusaders. The Glens had taken just one point from the three previous Danske Bank Premiership fixtures against the Crues and with the squad missing a number of key players most feared the Shore Road outfit would come out on top again, especially as they are still chasing a Europa League spot.
It was a makeshift back four with Niall Henderson playing at right-back, the dependable Jason Hill at left-back and Willie Garrett & Steven Gordon playing in the centre of defence.
It's the final home fixture of the season as Glentoran welcome Crusaders to the Oval. It's the 4th meeting of the two sides in the Danske Bank Premiership with Glentoran still looking to register a win against the North Belfast outfit.
Crusaders had a very comfortable 3-nil victory when they visited the Oval in early September but the Glens responded well with a scoreless draw at Seaview in horrendous conditions just before Christmas. The Crues came out on top 2-1 in the final game before the split; Glentoran perhaps deserving a share of the spoils on the night.
