Following successive defeats to Cliftonville and Carrick Rangers, Glentoran will be looking to get their Danske Bank Premiership campaign back on track when they face Portadown at Shamrock Park on Saturday. Manager, Alan Kernaghan will be hoping that his side capitalise on their domination of possession in most games with goals. Indeed the East Belfast side have found the net just once in their opening three league fixtures; Ciaran Caldwell’s strike on the opening day of the season against Dungannon Swifts.

Glens defeated by Carrick at Oval

Glentoran were looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Cliftonville at Solitude on Wednesday night. Carrick Rangers visited The Oval having lost their two opening NIFL Premiership games so far and having not won against Glentoran since 1993 in any league game. Team news for Glentoran brought a bit of buzz back from Wednesday's disappointment as summer signing Nacho Novo was handed his first start as a Glentoran player alongside Curtis Allen up front.

Superstore

We would like to advise all supporters of the following regarding matchday access to the Superstore at The Oval.

On Matchday Saturdays, admission can be gained to the Superstore from opening time up until 12:30. After 12:30, admission can only be gained on production of a Season Ticket or by paying into the game.

Portadown v Glentoran tickets

The club was informed at 10am this morning by Portadown that they have made next week's match at Shamrock Park all ticket.
 
Tickets will be on sale from the Glentoran Superstore on Saturday 13th August at the following times:

Under 20s: Glentoran v Cliftonville

Glentoran Under 20s followed up their win on Saturday with 3 points over Cliftonville on Wednesday night.

The Glens got off to a great start with a goal in the opening minutes, striker Padraig Hughes tapping in from close range following good work down the right hand side.

Glentoran started the game the same way they did against Dungannon and had numerous chances early on and got a second mid way through the first half.  Paddy Cafolla with a defence splitting pass found Karl Hamill, who struck a shot across the keeper and into the back of the net.

Cliftonville 2-0 Glentoran

A limp Glentoran were unable to build on their opening day win as they went down 2-0 at Solitude against Cliftonville. A healthy crowd filled the north Belfast arena including a sell-out away end however it was the red sections that experienced all of the joy.
