On Saturday we travel to County Armagh for our fourth meeting of the season with Glenavon.

Since losing to Linfield at The National Stadium in late January, Glenavon have enjoyed a positive run of recent form; going six games unbeaten - with three wins and three draws - to push themselves to within five points of sixth placed Coleraine and an outside chance of making the top half of the league split.

Glentoran missed the opportunity to consolidate their lead in the Danske Bank Premiership this evening as a late Lee Lynch winner led to another defeat to Larne at Inver Park.

The Glens’ starting line-up was the one that defeated Linfield at the Bet McLean Oval last week as Patrick McClean’s appeal against his recent red card at Shamrock Park had still not been heard by the IFA.

Contract News: Three more years for Jay

The club is delighted to confirm that Jay Donnelly today signed an extension to his contract and will now remain with Glentoran until at least June 2025.

Jay has had a phenomenal season and is league top scorer in the Danske Bank Premiership with 23 goals in just 29 appearances. He also won the supporters’ vote as Glentoran Player of the Month for a remarkable four months from September to December.

Glentoran 1-0 Linfield

Glentoran seized the opportunity to return to the top pf the Danske Bank Premiership in tonight's game, billed as the biggest Big Two game in a decade tonight. A second half Conor McMenamin goal after great work from Jay Donnelly gave the Glens a 1-0 win at the Bet McLean Oval this evening.

The Glens starting line-up had just one change from Tuesday night’s draw at Portadown, as skipper Marcus Kane, a decade long veteran of Big Two matches, was included. Patrick McClean held his place at centre back with his red card at Shamrock Park under appeal.
