Thank You Glentoran
A few weeks ago I received a call from Glentoran suggesting we might have another food collection for The Larder. Let me explain. The Larder is a local food bank operating out of St Christopher's Church in Parkgate Drive, literally at the gates of the Oval. So far in 2014 we have given bags of food to over 1400 people. It is emergency food, so if there is a crisis in payment of benefits or someone loses a job or an emergency occurs that requires extra money a family or a person may need a helping hand for a week or two.
Is It You We're Looking For?
Last Tuesday night at the home game v Portadown, we had Neil Lamont taking details and payments for the 200 Club in the McLean's Suite before the match. There were10 people who came forward and signed up, but we need to find 3 of them. Everyone was given a membership number and those with numbers 57, 58 and 59, we would like you to get in touch ASAP.
Can you please contact us by email on commercial@glentoran.com or call into the Superstore on Thursday (open 4.30pm until 7pm). We need a little bit more info from you.

Glentoran 2 - 0 Coleraine
A Howard Beverland own goal and a superb finish from David Scullion gave Glentoran a somewhat flattering 2-0 victory over Coleraine at the Oval this afternoon. Eddie Patterson named an unchanged starting XI after the midweek draw with Portadown and saw his side take the lead after just nine minutes. Curtis Allen tried to work a one-two with Fra McCaffrey on the edge of the Coleraine box but McCaffrey’s return pass was intercepted by Howard Beverland and the Coleraine captain was unfortunate to toe poke the ball into the bottom corner of his own net, leaving goalkeeper Michael Doherty wron

Glentoran in the Community
"The Larder" at St Christopher's Church are having a food collection day outside the Oval turnstiles this Saturday prior to our fixture against Coleraine
Last season, on Saturday 22 March 2014 (home game v Cliftonville), we did a food collection for The Larder food bank at St Christopher's Church where the Glentoran supporters filled four wheelie bins with tins and packets of food and also donated £100 cash in the buckets. This was a lot more than the volunteers at St Christopher's had hoped and prayed for.
Glentoran 1-1 Portadown
Glentoran and Portadown met at the Oval this evening in the Danske Bank Premiership. As has become the norm over the past number of years it was a bruising, physical encounter with no quarter asked or given.
Champions - Again
Glentoran BU Ladies 2-1 victory over Crusaders Strikers saw them with the Concentrix Premier League with a game to spare.
With two games remaining Glentoran BU Ladies required one win to clinch the title and on Monday evening they secured the title in a tense game at the Oval.
The game was scoreless at the interval but a magnificent strike from Demi Vance put the home side in front early in the second half. An unfortunate own goal saw Glentoran BU double their advantage and they held on to be crowned champions despite a stoppage time penalty from Danielle McDowell.
