Douglas ready for the battle as Glens face Coleraine

Glentoran’s teenage midfielder James Douglas is embracing the battle for game time as Declan Devine’s side prepare for a crucial Sports Direct Premiership clash against Coleraine under the Friday night lights at The Showgrounds this Valentine’s Day (kick-off 7:45pm).

The Glens arrive at The Coleraine Showgrounds in impressive form, unbeaten in 14 matches across all competitions as they look to tighten their grip on second place and continue their pursuit of silverware.

Danny Amos pens Glentoran contact extension

Glentoran left-back Danny Amos has committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension, keeping him at the BetMcLean Oval until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Since joining the Glens in August 2024, the 25-year-old former Northern Ireland U21 international has been a standout performer for the club, making 30 appearances and contributing four goals and seven assists.

Raven GSC donates fleece blankets to club's disabled section

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to acknowledge the generosity of the Raven Glentoran Supporters Club (GSC) who have donated six high-quality fleece blankets to the club’s disabled section at the Bet McLean Oval.

The initiative stemmed from a conversation between Raven GSC Chairman, Colin Davidson, and Philip Stevenson, 1923 Committee GSC, that highlighted the often-harsh weather conditions at the stadium and the need to ensure greater comfort for the club’s disabled supporters.

Thomson wins NIFWA Goal of the Month competition for January

Glentoran midfielder Joe Thomson has won the NIFWA's Goal of the Month competition for January.

Thomson, who moved from Larne during the January transfer window, registered two goals on his Glens debut including a fine strike from outside the box, as Declan Devine's men fought back from 1-0 down to beat Loughgall 2-1 at Lakeview Park.

Glentoran manager Declan Devine has been named the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association (NIFWA) Manager of the Month for January, securing the accolade for the second consecutive month after leading his side through an unbeaten start to 2025.

Devine’s side delivered a six-match unbeaten run in January, which included a league victory over Loughgall and a dramatic County Antrim Shield triumph, edging Larne 5-4 on penalties after a tense final.

All at Glentoran Football Club are very sorry to hear of the sad passing of lifelong Glenman Sammy Calder.

Deepest condolences are extended to Sammy’s  wife May, children Kim and Winston and to his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service of thanksgiving for Sammy’s life will be held in Joymount Presbyterian Church, Carrickfergus on Tuesday 11th February at 1.30 p.m. followed by interment in Victoria Cemetery.

Amos stunner seals late win for Glens

Danny Amos was the hero at the BetMcLean Oval this afternoon, as the defender struck a stunning 90th-minute goal to seal a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts in the Sports Direct Premiership.

The goal came in the final moments of a tightly contested match, but the Glens will care little, as the win moves them four points clear of the Swifts in second place with two games in hand.

The first meaningful chance of the game came in the 14th minute when Johnny Russell headed over from a dangerous Glentoran free-kick when he should have done better.

Glentoran’s Clearer Water Irish Cup Quarter-Final fixture against Bangor will take place on Friday 28th February 2025 at Clandeboye Park (Kick Off: 7:45pm).

BBC NI has selected the highly anticipated tie for live broadcast on BBC iPlayer.

The Glens, aiming to lift the Irish Cup for the first time since 2020, will look to overcome Bangor and take another step toward their 24th triumph in the competition.
