Jenkins strike seals cup progress

Glentoran booked their place in the Second Round of the BetMcLean Cup with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Championship side Institute at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Tuesday night.

It proved to be a testing night for Declan Devine’s side, who were made to work for their place in the next round by a spirited Institute team that defended bravely and threatened on the counter throughout a competitive contest.

Pattisson eager to make his mark

Glentoran winger Christie Pattisson says he’s ready to “kick-start his season” as the Glens travel to the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Tuesday 7 October 2025 (Kick-off 7.45pm) for their BetMcLean Cup First Round clash with Institute.

After serving a nine-game suspension carried over from last season, Pattisson returned to the matchday squad for the 2–1 victory at Coleraine and is now targeting his first appearance of the new campaign.

Russell earns latest Northern Ireland U21 call-up

Glentoran defender and Academy graduate Jonny Russell has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for this month’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Malta and Germany.

The U21s will face Malta on Thursday 9 October (Kick-Off 19:45) before taking on Group F top seeds Germany on Tuesday 14 October (Kick-Off 17:30) with both fixtures being staged at The BetMcLean Oval, Belfast.

Match Postponed: Cliftonville v Glentoran

Cooney enjoying life in East Belfast

Glentoran defender Ryan Cooney says he is relishing every moment of his new challenge in East Belfast as the Glens prepare for Friday night’s Sports Direct Premiership trip to Cliftonville at Solitude (kick-off 7.45pm).

The 25-year-old full-back arrived from Crewe Alexandra in the summer and has made an impressive start to life at the BetMcLean Oval, with Glentoran unbeaten after eight league fixtures, six wins and two draws placing them top of the table.

2025-26 men’s squad photo released

Glentoran Football Club are proud to unveil the official 2025-26 men’s squad photo, taken this week at The BetMcLean Oval.

Declan Devine’s side assembled for the traditional annual photograph, with this summer’s new signings lining up alongside established senior players, academy graduates and the backroom staff.

Chairman Colin Jess, Club President David Chick, and Roy Coyle, the club’s legendary former manager, were also in attendance.
