Glentoran manager Declan Devine has been named NIFWA Manager of the Month for August after guiding the Glens to an outstanding start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Devine’s side collected 13 points from a possible 15 across the opening month, recording four wins and one draw in their first five Premiership fixtures.
The Glens secured four consecutive clean sheets in victories over Portadown, Bangor, Glenavon and Crusaders, before being held to a 1–1 draw at The BetMcLean Oval by Carrick Rangers.
Reflecting on the award, Devine was quick to credit his players and staff:
“The commitment and effort of the players has really pleased me. They’ve been positive from the first day of pre-season and carried that energy into the campaign.
"I’m only winning this award as a reflection of the players and backroom staff, for their appetite to improve and the work they put in every day. We’ve been to tough away venues like Portadown and delivered results, which shows the character in this group.
"All in all, I’m really pleased with our start, but we know bigger tests lie ahead and we’re ready to meet them.”
Congratulations to Declan and his staff on this well-deserved recognition.
