Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that striker Jordan Jenkins has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the BetMcLean Oval until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The 24-year-old East Belfast-born forward enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024/25, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals across 29 starts and 19 substitute appearances in all competitions.

Regarded as one of the Sports Direct Premiership’s most exciting attacking talents, Jenkins underlined his growing reputation by claiming the NIFL Goal of the Season for his thunderous strike against Cliftonville in August.

After an outstanding loan spell at Dundela in 2023/24, where he scored 24 goals in 30 appearances, Jenkins returned to Glentoran and delivered his most consistent run of games in a Glens shirt, firmly establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s frontline

Talking about signing his new contract, Jordan Jenkins said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to sign a new deal with the club I grew up supporting. Glentoran has been really good to me and I want to repay that faith by continuing to work hard, score goals and help bring success to the BetMcLean Oval.

“Last season was a massive step forward in my career. Coming back from my loan at Dundela, I was determined to take my chance and I’m thankful to Declan for trusting me and giving me the platform to show what I can do.

“This new contract feels like recognition for the hard work I’ve put in, but I know there’s still a lot more to come from me. I’m only 25 and still learning every day. I want to keep improving, keep scoring and do whatever it takes to help the team push forward.

“I’m really enjoying my football and I want to be at Glentoran for a long time. I know how much this club means to the fans and it means the world to me too. I’m focused on coming back sharp in pre-season, building on last year’s momentum and doing my part to help the club achieve success next season.”

Declan Devine, Glentoran’s First Team Manager said: “When Jordan returned from his loan spell at Dundela, I was determined to give him a chance as I could see there was something special about him. He comes alive in and around the box, has that natural striker’s instinct and knows exactly where the goal is.

“He grabbed his opportunity with both hands. He is our most clinical finisher and produced some outstanding moments, including that Goal of the Season strike against Cliftonville.

“Jordan’s a local lad who truly understands what it means to play for Glentoran. This new deal is a reflection of the progress he’s made and the role we believe he can play in the seasons ahead.

“He knows defenders will be watching him more closely next season and the next step in his development is improving his all-round game. He’s intelligent, he’s driven and there’s no doubt in our minds that there’s even more to come from him.

“With players like Liam Burt and Jordan Stewart bringing added creativity and quality to our attacking options, we’re focused on giving Jordan the platform to push on and score even more goals.”

Jenkins becomes the fourth key player to commit his future to Glentoran, following new deals for Club Captain Marcus Kane, midfielder Josh Kelly and academy graduate Jude Johnson, as manager Declan Devine continues to build towards the 2025/26 campaign.

Paul Millar, Glentoran’s Sporting Director added: “Jordan’s a local lad who has shown real maturity and quality since returning from his loan at Dundela. His attitude has been outstanding and his goalscoring record last season speaks for itself. He stepped up and proved he can deliver at this level.

“This new contract reflects how highly he’s regarded by Declan, the coaching staff and everyone at the club. He has all the attributes, from his work rate to his instinctive finishing, to become a top-level forward for Glentoran.

“We see Jordan as a key part of our long-term plans and I’ve no doubt he’ll play a major role next season. He’s a real asset to this football club, and we believe he can be one of the players who helps fire Glentoran to the success we’re all working so hard to achieve.”
