Glentoran Women continued their impressive start to the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season with a commanding 4-1 victory over Lisburn Rangers Ladies at the Blanchflower Stadium on Friday night.

Kim Turner’s side remain the only team in the division with a 100 per cent record after two rounds, and once again it was the club’s emerging young talent who provided the platform for success.

Teenager Mia Moore opened the scoring on 13 minutes, calmly slotting home after a sharp attacking move to notch her second goal in as many games.

The Glens doubled their advantage six minutes before the break when the in-form Kascie Weir pounced inside the area to continue her fine run of early-season form.

Despite the hosts dominating large spells of the game, newly promoted Lisburn Rangers gave a spirited account of themselves and reduced the deficit just after the hour mark, briefly setting up a tense finish.

But Glentoran’s experience and quality shone through in the closing stages as they struck twice in stoppage time through Emily Wilson to seal the win in emphatic fashion.
