Glentoran cruised to a 2-0 victory over Ballymena United in the BetMcLean Cup quarter-final, securing their place in the Semi-Finals.
Jordan Jenkins and David Fisher scored the goals in the second half at the BetMcLean Oval.
Despite the freezing cold conditions, Glentoran, unbeaten in eight games, quickly established control.
Cammy Palmer's powerful shot from inside the box was brilliantly saved by Sean O'Neill, and Fisher's subsequent effort from the rebound was also saved by the veteran stopper.
Palmer was involved again when the ball struck Daithi McCallion's arm inside the penalty area from the midfielder's cross, but referee Evan Boyce failed to award a penalty despite strong appeals.
United lost main goal threat Ben Kennedy just after the half-hour mark to injury, and almost went behind seven minutes from half-time when Danny Amos went close for Declan Devine’s men.
The left back cut inside from the left, onto his less favoured right foot and unloaded a curling effort that beat O'Neill in goal but rebounded away to safety off the crossbar as Sky Blues’ fans breathed a sigh of relief.
Half-Time: Glentoran 0 - 0 Ballymena United
In the second half, Ballymena United started the livelier and Joe Moore had an opportunity, but his shot went wide.
However after 69 minutes, Glentoran took a deserved lead with a spectacular long-range strike from Jenkins that left O'Neill helpless.
With five minutes remaining, Fisher doubled Glentoran's advantage after a defensive error by Ballymena with the striker calmly slotting home from close range.
Glentoran will now face Crusaders in the BetMcLean Semi-Finals.
