Nathan Best, Nigel Prentice and Paul McLaughlin
Glentoran went level on points with Linfield at the top of the NIFL U20 Premiership Development League with a superb 3-2 win over a very strong Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
Glenavon lined up with Saturday's match winner Jordan Jenkins, Niall Grace, Aaron Harmon, Andrew Doyle and former Northern Ireland International Sammy Clingan among other first team squad members and the wee Glens knew they would have to raise their game.
The Glens on the other hand had several key men missing and had four call ups from the under 16 and 18s to the squad thus making the win all the more impressive.
Glenavon started strongly as expected and forced a couple of fine saves out of Paul McLaughlin - one double save in quick succession was particularly superb.
The Glens soaked up the pressure well and as Glenavon's tempo dropped the Glens got a foothold in the game with Henderson and Gallagher stepping up to the challenge of Grace and Clingan.
The Glens broke the dead lock mid way through the half on the counter attack when an inch perfect pass from Gallagher found Tipping who raced clear and squared for Prentice to finish unmarked at the back post.
Ten minutes later Glenavon equalised when Jenkins long range shot was deflected into the path of Glenavon's number 10 who fired home.
The Glens lost Henderson 20 minutes in to a slight injury and Corai Quinn entered the fray and stood up brilliantly to the task at right back as Dan Smith moved into the midfield and Mal Smith moved to centre back - an unfamiliar position for Mal but he was faultless throughout.
Glentoran looked dangerous on the break and knew this would be a threat throughout the second half an so it proved as Gallagher found Nathan Best who drove and the full back and cut inside to fire a fantastic shot into the top corner from 18 yards - a brilliant goal from the wide man.
Nigel Prentice was sent clear soon after but Glenavon's keeper made a good stop to deny a Glentoran third before Best did add a third with a powerful run from the right as he sliced through Glenavon's defence and hammered low into the corner.
Glenavon pulled a goal back 8 minutes from the end and the Glens had to survive a late scare as McLaughlin made another couple of fine saves in a man of the match performance from the big Keeper. Niall Grace seen a stoppage time header come off the top of the bar but the Glens did enough to hold out for a superb win.
