New Non Executive Appointments at Glentoran

Sun, 09/09/2018 - 00:30

The Board of Directors of the Glentoran Recreation Company is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Non-Executive Directors.

Ian Kerr. Ian resigned from his role as Vice Chairman of the club at the AGM in June and left the board after eleven years service. Ian has assumed a non executive position with responsibility for the redevelopment of the stadium.

William Kitchen has assumed a non executive role in supporter liaison. He will have responsibility for liaising with and working alongside supporters clubs and individual supporters. In his role he will communicate supporter views, ideas and concerns to the Board of Directors and will work to further strengthen relationships between the club and its loyal supporter base. William will report to Vice Chairman Colin Jess.

Gail Redmond will assume responsibility for liaison with the Board of Directors on all aspects of Women’s football at the club. Gail has been one of the main driving forces behind the successful establishment and growth of women’s football in Northern Ireland and is currently Women’s Domestic Football Manager for the Irish Football Association.

These non executive positions are a new development at Glentoran. They will report regularly to the Board of Directors on issues within their areas of responsibility. They will attend board meetings when appropriate to those areas but do not have voting rights at board level. The Board of Directors welcome Ian. William and Gail and know they will play a full role in the development of Glentoran.
