Glentoran are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Stephen Rice on a contract until the end of the current season.
Stephen has spent his career to date in the League of Ireland with Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians and most recently Longford Town. He captained Rovers to their league championship successes in 2010 and 2011. In addition to these successes he also has 2 Setanta Cup winners medals and one For the League of Ireland Cup. He also enjoyed European success with Rovers, including a famous goal against Tottenham Hotspur.
Manager Alan Kernaghan said "I am delighted to have signed a player with such great experience and above all an obvious hunger to play for Glentoran and move us forward".
As a free agent Stephen is free to sign for the club outside the transfer window. Pending a successful registration and international clearance it is hoped that he will be available to play at Ballinamallard on Saturday."
