The Glens face Armagh City in the Irish Cup tonight with a quarter-final place up for grabs. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw on 8th February at Holm Park and the prize for the victor tonight is a home tie against either Ballinamallard Utd or Glenavon.
Glentoran will go into the game without Marcus Kane, scorer of our goal at Holm Park, and Willie Garrett; both players having received red cards in the disappointing defeat to Ards on Saturday evening.
Armagh City visit the Oval for the replay of our Irish Cup fixture and hopefully we can clinch the win to take us through to the next round.
The Premier Lounge will open at 6.30pm and all members and guests are welcome. The match will be shown live on all screens from 7.45pm.
Hope to see you all then.
With both Portadown and Crusaders losing earlier today, Glentoran had a great chance to narrow the gap on the teams immediately above them. They failed to take it. Apart from the final 10 minutes of this game they were out-fought and out-played by the Premiership's bottom club who fully deserved their win.
The Superstore at the Oval will NOT be open tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Tickets for our Setanta Sports Cup tie, away to Shamrock Rovers on Monday 24th February, are now available.
They are on sale at two of our outlets; Dawson's Newsagent, Belmont Road and the Spar on the Ravenhill Road.
Tickets will also be available at the Glentoran Superstore on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm and also on Monday night when we face Armagh City at the Oval in the irish Cup.
Prices are Adult £15 and Concession £10.
Please note that tickets are NOT required for our upcoming Danske Bank Premiership game against Linfield on Friday 21st February.
Tonight's friendly match against Derry City, due to be played at the Brandywell, has been called off due to snow.
Glentoran or Armagh City will be at home to the winner of Ballinamallard Utd and Glenavon in the quarter-final of the 2014 Irish Cup.
The Glentoran v Armagh City replay will take place at the Oval on Monday 17th February 2014. Kick-off is 7:45pm.
The draw in full is:
Irish Cup quarter-final draw
Crusaders v Ballyclare Comrades
Ballymena Utd v Dungannon Swifts
Armagh City/Glentoran v Ballinamallard Utd/Glenavon
Queen's University v Warrenpoint Town/Bangor
A spectacular 25 yard strike by Marcus Kane in the first half was cancelled out by an equally good goal from Philip Donnelly in the second as Glentoran and Armagh City played out a 1-1 draw at Holm Park.
Today's game between Glentoran Seconds and Ballinamallard Reserves has fallen victim to the weather and been called off.
