Everyone connected with Glentoran Football Club would like to congratulate the club’s physio, George Magill, and his wife Dorothy on celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today. George has been an integral part of the staff at the Oval in a variety of guises throughout most of these 50 years. The club are grateful to George for his service and Dorothy for her patience!
Glentoran FC is delighted to announce that former player Jason Hill has been appointed as second team manager. Jason is a qualified coach who made 327 first team appearances in his time as a player at the Oval and will very much have the respect of the dressing room.
First team manager Eddie Patterson is greatly looking forward to working with Jason, seeing his tenure as a long term project which continues the fantastic service of his predecessors Spike Hill and Jim Morgan in bringing young players through to the first team squad.
Glentoran will play Carrick Rangers in a pre-season friendly on 14th July with a 7.45pm kick off. This match is being played as part of the deal which brought Jonny Addis to the Oval, but, as Taylor's Avenue is unavailable, it will be played at Inver Park, Larne.
Ballymac GSC have made a donation to Glentoran FC to assist with pre-season expenses.
Glentoran Chairman, Stephen Henderson was delighted to receive a cheque for £300 from Ballymac GSC Chairman, Thomas Sewell at their clubrooms in Wilgar Street.
Glentoran's first pre-season fixture ended with a 2-1 victory courtesy of goals from Conor McMenamin and Calum Birney. Joel Cooper had given the NI Regions side an early lead before new signing, McMenamin levelled the scores with a close range header. Calum Birney then headed home before half-time to put the glens in front.

Eddie Patterson has made his first signing of the summer as Conor McMenamin signs on a two year contract.
Defender Barry Holland has signed a two year contract to remain at the Oval.

Glentoran Academy hosted several young Dublin teams from the FAI Development programme this past weekend at Dundonald High School in what was a grand opening of our Academy’s new training facility in partnership with Dundonald High School.
Children from as young as 4 years old up to 13 years old took part in the event with entertaining challenge matches at each age group, including our u10 girls team. Also in attendance were a number of local clubs including Castle Juniors, Shankill Juniors and Lisburn Distillery.
Jim O'Hanlon and Niall Henderson have signed one year extensions to their contracts.
