Congratulations to three of the highly rated players from our Women's section. Jess Foy, Caragh Milligan and Lauren Wade have been selected for the Senior Northern Ireland Women's International squad to play two friendlies with Portugal on the 17th and 19th January.

Glentoran Under 20s have strengthened their squad with the additions of Carter Savage, Dale McCreery and Salou Jallow.
Carter Savage (18), a central defender, signs from Glenavon where he made one senior appearance, playing 90 minutes against Linfield in the 2015/16 season. Carter was previously with Glentoran, making over 20 appearances for our reserve side aged 16 following his move back home after a brief spell with Dumbarton FC.

On a horrendously wet January afternoon in East Belfast, the Glens made just one change to the starting line up which disappointingly exited the Irish Cup last weekend, Marcus Kane coming into the midfield in place of the suspended Stephen McAlorum. Calum Birney and Eric Foley were again missing from the squad due to injury.
Back to League action tomorrow and another jam packed Glentoran Gazette goes on sale at the Oval. Look out for a fascinating Italian perspective on our European Cup clash with Juventus by Italian Glenman Giampaolo Tassinari and there's a double header from our very own history man, Brian McClelland, including the tale of how the Glens won the World Cup! There's an interview with one of the leading members of the Glentoran Twitterati, Pete Baxter, plus news, views, stats and top class photo action from Tommy Sewell. Get them while they last!
