Saturday 4 January 2020, Kick Off 3.00pm
On Saturday we begin this season’s Irish Cup campaign by renewing an old rivalry when Portadown visit the Oval.
Glentoran FC is delighted to announce that our number seven, Jonny Frazer has signed a contract extension with the club. This means that Jonny (23) has now committed himself to Glentoran until at least the end of the 2020/21 season.
Cricky Gallagher has been voted the Glentoran Player of The Month for December, the second month in a row the 20-year old midfielder has won the supporters’’ vote.
In a month where the Glens were unbeaten despite playing all four of other top teams in the Danske Bank Premiership, Cricky won 28% of the vote in what was very much a two horse race with Navid Nasseri on 23%.
Glentoran travelled to Stangmore Park today, looking to extend their unbeaten league run to 13 games but mindful of their last visit to Dungannon in mid-August which ended in a 3-1 defeat.
Saturday 1 January 2020, Kick Off 3.00pm
We begin 2020 with a visit to County Tyrone, hoping to extend our unbeaten league run to thirteen with a winning performance against Dungannon Swifts.
We are currently 26 points and six places ahead of tenth placed Dungannon, and just over a month ago had our heaviest win of the season with a 6-1 home won over Swifts, including a Robbie McDaid hat trick, two from Paul O’Neill and a typical Hrvoje Plum special from a free kick.
Our Christmas appeal was a huge success once again this year.
As a club we pulled together and showed our support off the pitch.
Your very generous donations enabled us to do the following..
Provide a 3 course Christmas dinner for 100 local pensioners.
Hold a kids party with a visit from Santa; thank you to Connswater Community Centre.
The recent Boxing Day match against Linfield seen substantial use of our new E-Ticket platform. Going forward, E-Tickets will be available for all home games. This does not mean the games are ticket only, it is simply another method of entry to improve the matchday experience for supporters. Cash, Card and E-Tickets will be valid for home matches. Any all-ticket fixtures or changes to this will be specifically called out and highlighted in advance.
Please ensure that when buying an E-Ticket, you buy it for the correct HOME or AWAY section.
Congratulations to Calum Birney on making his 200th first team appearance for Glentoran in Saturday’s 2-0 Danske Bank Premiership win over Ballymena United at the Oval.
It's difficult to know where to start with this one. Coming just 48 hours after the superb 3-nil Boxing Day win over Linfield and with a significant number of changes to the starting line up we then endured 85 minutes of nothingness. Indeed with just 5 minutes remaining it looked like it was going to be very much a case of 'After the Lord Mayor's Show'.....and a missed opportunity. The time after 85 minutes though was far from dull!
