Match Preview: Glentoran v Dungannon Swifts

After Tuesday's enthralling 3-3 draw away to Linfield, Glentoran will seek to record a first league win of the season when Dungannon Swifts visit the Oval.

When the Swifts last visited the Oval exactly a year ago, they left on the end of a thumping 6-1 defeat. That day a Robbie McDaid hat-trick, Paul O'Neill double and a trademark Hrvoje Plum free kick sent the Oval faithful home happy.

Due to temporarily increased government health & safety restrictions due to Covid-19, there will be no supporters permitted to attend Saturday’s home Danske Bank Premiership match with Dungannon Swifts.

The match will be live streamed by GlensTV in partnership with 247.tv. The game will again be filmed by David Kerr, with commentary by Aaron Agnew, and the regular expert analyst will be Glentoran’s legendary captain, Paul Leeman.

Live Streaming Information - County Antrim Shield Final

We are delighted to announce that a live stream of next week’s County Antrim Shield final will be facilitated as a joint venture between Glentoran and Larne.

The Shield decider at Seaview on Wednesday 2nd December is the first final of the 2020/21 season, and will be played behind closed doors as per the latest Covid-19 restrictions.

However, fans of both clubs will now have an opportunity to purchase the stream for just £7.50, with all revenue to be split between the two clubs.

It was a strange game in many ways and one which both teams will feel they could have won. Certainly at the interval most of the Glentoran contingent would have gladly accepted a point but by the time the final whistle sounded it felt like a defeat.

New Glens Club in Ballynahinch

The club is delighted to welcome a new addition to our family of Glentoran Supporters Clubs.

Despite the difficulties caused by Covid-19 throughout this year, a body of loyal Glentoran supporters in mid County Down have come together to form the Ballynahinch Glentoran Supporters Club. The club was formed immediately before normal football was suspended in March, but the officers and members are determined to build the club membership once normality returns to the local game.

Glens Women now six points clear

Glentoran Women were awarded two 3-0 victories by the NIFL Women’s Premiership Management Committee  on Monday evening, following consideration of the status of the three rescheduled games in November in which Derry City Women were unable to field a squad. Crusaders Strikers were also awarded a similar result in the other cancelled matach.

Shield Final ticket allocation

Following a meeting between the Co Antrim FA and representatives from both Finalists, we are able to announce ticket information ahead of the ToalsBet.Com Co Antrim Shield Final v Larne, which will take place on Wednesday 2nd December at Seaview, 7.45pm kick off.

Glentoran supporters will be hosted in the North Stand (normally the home stand), the North Stand terrace and the Harry Corry Stand.

Tickets are priced at £12 (Adults) and £8 (Concession).

Tickets will be sold directly from each club. Further details will be announced here in due course.
