Tomorrow's Gazette

Thu, 18/08/2022 - 10:39

The Glentoran Gazette team welcomes back its readers for the 2022/23 season. Because of technical difficulties we can't yet introduce our revamped layout for the campaign but the eagle-eyed among you will note Beth Stafford and Joe Burns’ new cover as well as some new features. Reluctantly due to a rise in printing costs, particularly the price of paper, we have had to increase our cover price for the first time in a decade but are confident that the Gazette remains unrivalled as the best read in the local game.

In this first edition of the season Mick McDermott praises new boys Aidan Wilson and James Singleton’s performances in an edgy opening game at Larne and echoes the thoughts of Greg Braniff who says Crusaders arrive tonight in red hot form. Matthew Brown talks to Tim McCann about his return to the Oval, Henry Muldrew ponders what makes Irish League fans stick with the game while Dale Lockhart blames his love for the club on his Dad. Brian McCllelland tells of a Scottish import from yesteryear and we hail the achievements of our male and female internationals. We highlight the recent comings and goings on Parkgate Avenue, turn the spotlight on important anniversaries among the organised fanbase and our contributors pay a final tribute to three significant Glentoran figures who passed away over the summer. And, of course, Norman Ternahan and Thomas Sewell have covered last Friday night’s action in words and pictures. The Gazette, by the fans for the fans, is £4.

Remember, if you are unable to make the game or wish to take out a subscription for the season, the Gazette is available to order online.  Full details HERE.

Finally the 1923's famous Tea Club is back up and running from tomorrow night.  The 1923 Club Room is open at half time at all home games - tea and biccies for just £1!  We look forward to seeing all our regulars and any new faces are very welcome to join us.
