After a very successful Scottish pre season trip 2 years ago, we have organised another fixture for the team this Pre-season again, and for those of you who may be slightly superstitious, at the end of that season, we won the Irish Cup!!! Heres hoping we can do it all again!!
On Saturday 19th July we will make the short trip across the Irish Sea to Cairnryan and then travel by coach to play a team managed by an Ex Glentoran player, Derek Cook. Ardeer Thistle will host Glentoran for the first time and we would like to thank Derek for re-organising a fixture he already had planned. We had been speaking with various other teams but unfortunately for one reason or another, we just could not get agreements set in place.
This trip will be the same as the last time against Ayr United, we have to raise the money for the team to travel. To make this trip possible, the players and management have all agreed to pay towards the trip but we still need to raise approx £2200 to make it happen.
There has been two 50 seater coaches organised to travel with the team and this will be a day trip return, so we have set up a Glentoran Travel Club. If you would like to travel on one of the coaches, we will be taking payment on Saturday morning and Thursday evenings at the Oval for the next two weeks.
There is only 100 seats available and this will be on a first come, first served basis.
No seats will be held unless payment is made in full.
The price for the day return will be £55 per person.
Price includes ferry and coach return. (No concessions available).
No deposits, payment in full required.
Timings for meeting on the day of the trip will be confirmed soon.
Unfortunately due to a lack of hotel availability in the area, we will NOT be organising any overnight packages but may have a small amount of seats available if you can organise your own hotel.

Players 4th Shirt - fundraiser for Scottish Trip
Each season, the 1st team squad are allocated 4 shirts (1 short and 1 long sleeve for both home and away). 2 of these shirts are sponsored all season with details on website, programme and an end of season presentation. The 3rd shirt - the players keep. That leaves the 4th shirt, for which I have approval from GFC Board and agreement from the players to sell at £50 each and ALL funds go towards helping with the costs of the Scottish Trip organised for 19th July.
