Obituary: Gordon Titterington

Tue, 09/05/2023 - 19:19

Everyone at Glentoran FC was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of lifelong devoted Glenman Gordon Titterington.

Gordon was a long standing and much loved member and officer of the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923). His friends in the 1923 paid the following warm tribute:

“It was with deep sadness that everyone in the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923) learned yesterday of the sad passing of our esteemed President and great friend , Gordon Titterington.

Gordon had been a member of the '23 for over 50 years and for much of that time was our club secretary. Like us all , Gordon would have been a familiar face at the Oval , helping to sell the Gazette on matchdays. Along with his great friend , Alan Jamieson , Gordon would also have been a familiar face and good friend to many , as they ran the half time tea club , in our Clubrooms for many, many years until ill health forced him to step down.

Although not able to attend games in recent years Gordon still kept in contact and would avidly follow the fortunes of Glentoran from his home.

Everyone with the 1923 and indeed all involved with the Glentoran Gazette send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.

Rest easy Gordon,  your work is done.

May you rest in peace.”

Gordon's funeral service will take place this Thursday 11th May at 1.30pm at St. Clément’s Church , Templemore Avenue , followed by his burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
