Glentoran face Linfield in the Danske Bank Premiership at the Oval on Easter Tuesday (kick-off 7:45pm), looking to bounce back from their disappointing result at Lurgan on Saturday.

The Glens have yet to win against their old rivals this season. In the three league meetings so far the Blues have come out on top twice (3-2 and 2-1) with the other game ending in a 2-2 draw.

Glentoran go into the game without Stephen McAlorum and Curtis Allen who are both suspended. Barry Holland picked up a back injury last weekend and is unlikely to feature. Jay Magee has returned to training but with no game time to build up his match fitmess he probably won't be in the squad.

Linfield need to win to keep up the pressure on league leaders, Crusaders. Indeed a defeat to Glentoran coupled with a win for the Crues at Portadown would virtually draw a line under this year's title race. It was a similar story last year when the teams met on Easter Tuesday. Glentoran travelled to Windsor Park having recorded two 1-goal defeats and a draw against Linfield in their three Premiership meetings. The Blues had to win to stay in touch with Cliftonville and the Glens were down to the bare bones with suspensions and injuries meaning Eddie Patterson had to field a young, inexperienced side.

It was the Glens who came out on top though with Danny McKee and Jordan Stewart scoring the goals in a 2-0 win. The match report from that game is on the official website HERE.

We would remind supporters that ongoing road works mean that Mersey Street is closed to traffic at the Connswater Bridge.
