On Saturday evening, the Hillfoot GSC clubrooms on the Castlereagh Road, welcomed its officers, members, Glentoran players and officials to the club’s annual Player pf the Year Awards Night for the 2020/2021 season. However it was a bit different this year as club Chairman Gareth Turkington also presented the 2019/2020 awards in light of the fact the event could not be held last year.
The 2020/2021 awards were presented as follows:
Player of the Year: Luke McCullough
Young Player of the Year: Caolan Marron
For 2019/2020 the award winners were: awards were presented as follows:
Player of the Year: Robbie McDaid
Young Player of the Year: Cricky Gallagher (now Cliftonville)
A special award and present was presented to Ruth McCreery (Glentoran Superstore Manager) in recognition of her many years of exceptional service as a volunteer at Glentoran
The meeting was also addressed briefly by Head Coach Mick McDermott. In addition to Mick and the award winners, Glentoran was represented by Chairman Stephen Henderson, Captain Marcus Kane, Directors Ian Clarke and Colin Jess, Assistant Manager Paul Millar, and Secretary Ricky Rea.
