
Glentoran Women commenced their 2025 season with a commanding 9–2 triumph over Larne Women in the opening round of the VBET Women's League Cup.
The Glens set the tempo early at Inver Park, with Emily Wilson breaking the deadlock within five minutes. New signing Mia Moore quickly followed up, doubling the lead a minute later. The team's relentless pressure saw Rachel Rogan and Demi Vance each add to the tally, establishing a formidable advantage.
Although Larne managed to pull one back midway through the first half, Glentoran responded assertively. Both Moore and Rogan secured their second goals of the evening, sending the visitors into halftime with a 6–1 lead.

The second half saw Wilson net her second goal eight minutes after the restart. Despite Larne adding a second to their count, substitute Sophie McKnight restored Glentoran's six-goal cushion on the hour mark. Wilson then completed her hat-trick in the 68th minute, capping off a stellar individual and team performance.
Under Kim Turner's guidance, this emphatic victory underlines the team's intent as they embark on the new season.
