Glentoran Women deliver win over Derry City

Sat, 14/06/2025 - 07:44

Glentoran Women extended their unbeaten start to the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season with a dominant 4-0 win over Derry City at the Blanchflower Stadium.

A composed first-half performance saw the Glens take control of the contest as Rachel Rogan opened the scoring on 33 minutes, calmly finishing after a sustained spell of pressure. Just four minutes later, the lead was doubled when Mia Moore’s dangerous low cross was inadvertently turned into her own net by a Derry defender.

The Glens continued to assert their dominance after the break, with captain Jessica Foy adding a third from close range following a pinpoint delivery from Nadene Caldwell. Rogan then sealed the points just after the hour mark, reacting first to Aimee Kerr’s cross to claim her second of the evening.

The result sees Glentoran return to the top of the table, with Kim Turner’s side continuing their strong early-season form.
