Glens Women back in Cup action

Thu, 27/07/2023 - 15:05

Glentoran Women are back in action tomorrow (Friday) night after nearly a month out of action.

The team travel to Inver Park to continue their defence of the Electric Ireland  Challenge Cup with a game v Larne. Incredibly the girls are bidding to win this trophy for a fifth successive time.

First Team Coach Kim Turner said to www.glentoran.com: ““We’re all looking forward to the game. The players have had a couple of days off after a really busy June and July so we’re all recharged and ready to go again. Larne gave us a good game at Inver Park earlier in the season and they’ll be up for the game tomorrow as well. The Irish Cup means a lot to everyone at Glentoran and it’s always a competition we want to do well in.”

On our visit to Inver in May the Glens ran out 7-0 winners with goals from Kerry Beattie (2), Nadene Caldwell (2), Caragh Hamilton (2) and Joely Andrews. Caragh of course has since moved to full time football in England but the rest of the squad are fit and available.

Kick Off at Inver Park is 7.30pm.
