
Congratulations to Glentoran Women Reserves who beat Linfield Ladies Swifts to the Electric Ireland Women’s Academy League title with an emphatic 6-1 victory in South Belfast.
Our U19s went to Midgley needing a win to win the league as they entered the game three points behind league leaders Linfield U19s. who needed only a draw at home to secure the title.
Rachel McIntyre scored after two minutes to put the Glens in front. Rachel went on to add two more for her hat trick. Maeve McConaghie with two and Natalia Orlowska completed the six-goal tally with Anna Walsh scoring a consolation for the hosts.
Both sides finished the campaign on 25 points from 10 games, but the free scoring Glens had a goal difference of 36 compared to just 13 for Linfield.
Well done girls. A fantastic achievement.
